Jury Duty, Movies & Snow
Somehow, I was chosen to serve Jury Duty.
I hate getting that summons in the mail.
It's like "Aha! We got you!!!"
So, the day I was scheduled to show up at 8:45am! Do they not know that Im asleep at that time, ahem?
Oh AND it was snowing, icing that morning.
The entire city had frozen over.
gosh, it was fun!
I nearly bit the dust twice!
But I got to that damn room.
Only to find out that oh, because of the storm and whatever was on the website, they'd be getting started at around 11am.
THUD.
Yep.
Well, I'm no stup, I'd downloaded SAG screening movies to watch in this case.
Um, 127 hours is not the best movie to watch before noon, or really anytime you might think you might like to eat or drink.
Me no likey.
All in all, my jury experience was exceptionally easy.
Once 11am rolled around I was immediately called to be interviewed for a case.
It was a construction site case and the truth is I was already in favor of the worker. He fell off the building. Ouch!
So, they let me off.
Whew.
The next day I came in and two hours later I was released for good.
Me likey.
Thank goodness for laptop computers, ipods and Howard Stern.
