Parties & such
I'm lucky in some ways.
In others, not so much.
But tonight I'm lucky that I was invited to a party and at these parties I get to meet interesting people.
Tonight, I was lucky to meet Jackie Martling.
He was at the party I was attending. He was there with his girlfriend. I told him how much I'd enjoyed him on Howard Stern over the years and how nice it was to meet him. We chatted about his Sirius radio show, Jackie's Joke Hunt (say it quick). I was really glad I went up to say hello. Usually I'm too shy to say anything but I've got nothing to lose these days except the blues so why the hell not.
So even though things are bumpy right now, sometimes a fun thing happens and make you glad for a moment.

You may not remember me, but for a while I used to meet you at school and stayed with you until your father got home, take you out sometimes, listened to the cast album of Annie and the soundtrack of Close Encounters zillions of times, and treated you to your first manicure (light pink polish).
We almost met when you were conducting acting classes for a student tour company - but alas! you were never conducting them when I was in NY!
